Every piece of jewelry from OLE LYNGGAARD COPENHAGEN is designed by Ole Lynggaard, Charlotte Lynggaard, and Sofia Lynggaard Normann. The designers take great pride in dedicating the time needed to perfect each piece of jewelry. Transforming a creative idea into a masterpiece through sophisticated craftsmanship is a long and patient process. Some visions remain a dazzling dream in the creative corners of the designer’s minds for years before reaching their audience.
For a design to transform from its first sketches into a reality, it requires the careful touch of expert hands. All collections and bespoke pieces are meticulously crafted by the brand’s team of 40 skilled artisans in the Copenhagen atelier, along with close partners. Designers and goldsmiths work in harmony to bring the natural movements of finely carved animal figures, or the delicate details of flowers, leaves, and branches, to life. This expert collaboration ensures the continuity of a profound understanding of art and craftsmanship.
All jewelry designs are made from 18-carat gold or 925 sterling silver. Each precious piece is often composed of many small components, which are then carefully assembled and perfected in the brand’s atelier. Master artisans patiently and delicately create various surface textures through processes such as satinised, brushed, hammered or polished. Satinising a precious metal entails carving very fine grooves into the surface, hereby creating a matte bohemian contrast to vivid gemstones. Hammered and brushed surfaces are equally matte, while a polished surface makes a perfect detail and beautifully enhances the sparkle of a glittering diamond.
In Charlotte and Ole Lynggaard’s jewelry designs, the brilliant colors of colored gemstones take center stage. Both designers, trained as goldsmiths, know exactly how to work with each stone, from the softest amber to the hardest tourmaline. Their commitment to quality continually leads them in search of the most special and natural stones. These stones are carefully extracted from caves, mountains, or the depths of the deep blue seas. Although they may appear similar, each stone is unique, making each piece of jewelry one-of-a-kind and special.
