Crafted entirely in 18 ct yellow gold, the Perpetual 1908 now makes an even more striking impression with a bracelet designed entirely from this precious metal. An innovative geometric structure gives this seven-link bracelet both grace and comfort, offering refined elegance from every angle. Rolex introduces Settimo, a new metal bracelet designed exclusively for Perpetual 1908. This elegance version is presented in 18 ct yellow gold and paired with a white dial, offering a striking blend of sophistication and simplicity.
Inspired by the earliest Rolex watches equipped with a Perpetual rotor, the 1908 is part of the Perpetual collection; a modern interpretation of traditional watchmaking. Introduced in 2023, this collection reflects the brand’s deep-rooted expertise and aesthetic heritage. Named after the year 1908, when Hans Wilsdorf created the name “Rolex” and registered the trademark in Switzerland, the 1908 is a tribute to the origins of the brand. This model perfectly embodies the spirit of the Perpetual Collection with its understated elegance. It’s design speaks to the strength of simplicity, shaped by distinctive details that define its unique identity. This timepiece offers one of the purest expressions of classical watchmaking in the Rolex universe.
The 1908 features a 39 mm case defined by sleek, refined contours. Its transparent case back reveals the meticulous workings of the movement, allowing the wearer to admire the oscillating Perpetual rotor in motion. Gentle chamfering along the upper edges of the lugs highlights their elegant curves, while the bezel is composed of two contrasting styles; fluted on the lower edge and domed on the top. The virtually scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and transparent case back are treated with an anti-reflective coating, ensuring clarity and durability. Water-resistant to a depth of approximately 50 meters (165 feet), the 18 ct yellow gold case offers both protection and sophistication.
Powering Perpetual 1908 is the Calibre 7140; an automatic movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex, introduced in 2023 exclusively for this model. A showcase of cutting-edge watchmaking, this self-winding mechanical movement delivers exceptional performance in precision, power reserve, and reliability. Its aesthetic is as refined as its engineering: the calibre features Rolex’s signature Côtes de Genève decoration, distinguished by a delicately polished groove between each stripe. Thanks to its Perpetual rotor, Calibre 7140 winds itself continuously and offers a power reserve of approximately 66 hours.
Unveiled at the Watches & Wonders fair, the new Settimo bracelet is crafted in 18 ct yellow gold and designed to deliver elegance without compromising on comfort. Composed of seven polished, softly contoured links, it offers an exceptionally lightweight and fluid feel on the wrist. Developed exclusively for the 1908, the Settimo bracelet features a unique attachment system that seamlessly integrates with the case so uniquely that it is the subject of a patent application. It is also fitted with Rolex’s concealed folding Crownclasp, completing the watch’s refined and understated silhouette.
